Using a Credit Card Machine opinions please?

Pedlars, How cool to hold a certificate that proves by law you are a person of good character!
Worth getting one just for the hallibut! Oh no, that's a fishing certificate.

Using a Credit Card Machine opinions please?

Post by boucaneer » Tue May 08, 2018 12:03 am

Dear Pedlars,

I may get a G.P.R.S PDQ mobile Credit Card Payment Terminal, a Ingenico Move 5000.

What are your opinions on using a credit card payment machine to take payments please?

I would like your advice as it's an 18 month contract with WorldPay and unsure of how many people may use the Credit Card/Debit Card payment option.

Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Alex.

Another option is Paypal credit card payments here:
https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/c ... ard-reader
but I think they probably take too much at up to 3.4% of the transaction plus 20p although it may be lower for chip & pin.
Worth looking at though.

good luck with it

Ian.

Thanks Ian, I've been talking to WorldPay and percentages are just 1.5% only for contactless payments which I plan to use.

It's £27 per month rental for the PDQ terminal so under a £1 a day for the rental, which I think I can make it pay and increase sales.

Cheers mate. 👍

I found this comparison of mobile card readers and their transaction prices:

Thank you Ian,

I have decided to order and set up an account with WorldPay and get the Ingenico Move 5000. My thinking is with people using the Ingenico machines in supermarkets and post offices they become familiar with the Ingenico brand and machine usage.

I hope it works, I'll give it my best shot.

I'm sure it'll work, you just say 'use your card sir? tap here please' they don't know.

Please check back with your stories and I just know you are going to do really well!
