Re: Street Event refusal to trade due to no liability insura

I think that the reply to this is to ask for the specific law or regulation that supports their assertion. * And what law/regulation states that I need to have public liability insurance?* * Under what law/regulation does the area cease to be classified as a street and become classified as a market?...

Re: appling in cambridgeshire

Yes, me too just applied for my certificate this afternoon here in Worcester. The information asked for was: Name, DoB, Address, Height, Colour of eyes, Colour of hair, Distinguishing features. The application form dates from earlier days when an address and a description of the pedlar was necessary...

Re: Health and safety certificate

All's well that ends well. If you can, get a stock of pre-wrapped ice cream and sell that, then you have no need of any certificates as it's low risk. You might need to look that up on the Internet to provide evidence to the organisers. It's important to get out and sell ASAP. You'll make some sales...

Re: Health and safety certificate

I've never heard of a health and safety certificate. Are you sure that this is what you were asked for? Could it be that the person doing the asking doesn't actually know what they are talking about? I'm sure that there are food safety certificates, but selling only pre-wrapped ice creams, I have no...

Re: Health and safety certificate

The people to ask are your Council's Environmental Health Dept. They will tell you everything that you need to know about (i) certificates, (ii) getting yourself registered as a food business and (ii) any premises/equipment inspections that you need. I don't want to frighten you, but operating witho...

Re: A couple of questions please

Hiyya, Yes, you're right. You should have had some replies by now. Here's my offering ... Pedlars Act It hasn't been changed and the version that you find on the Government website is the version in force. Trolleys/Carts: I think that it is now generally accepted that a pedlar may use a trolley of s...

Re: ice cream at the sea side

Personally I would NEVER do anything dishonest as suggested above. It is below your dignity to lie and/or cheat. Be scrupulously honest in all your dealings with all people and you have nothing to fear from anyone.

There's a residence requirement, so it should be done in a police station in your locality.

Just an idea: but by collecting this data, they are collecting data which is not necessary, and this is forbidden under that data protection act. They are collecting data about your friendship groups and associates which is completely irrelevant to your application. It also states that background ch...
