Re: Street Event refusal to trade due to no liability insura

Hi Brad, Trade was good no issues with the police, council asked for liability insurance and certificate which was why I asked on the forum. The council marshalls even advised the peddlars to stand still as it caused them more hassle with people moving about with big carts. So free market stall real...

Re: Street Event refusal to trade due to no liability insura

Thank you all for your help - I got liability insurance anyway as for the price did not seem a bad thing to have. At no point did I have to show the insurance certificate and successfully peddled at Lincoln Xmas market.

Re: Street Event refusal to trade due to no liability insura

Hi, thanks for the response. Would an acceptable response to the official be "I have no broken any laws being here, if you disagree please call the police" I guess at that point I could also walk away as they cannot detain me. I assume if I am not allowed to be there the police will just send me on ...

My understanding is if they are held on the street I have every right to be there. Is that correct or can restrictions be put on for...

Re: Restricted Areas

@markwoods39 - How'd you get away with that? - was the boot sale held on council property that is free for people to walk round like a car park? @MagicPedlar - Couldn't agree more nothing is to be gained from an argument or rubbing authorities up the wrong way, my concern was if the police were call...

Restricted Areas

Hi All, Many thanks for letting me join your pedlar forum. I have received my certificate but still a peddling virgin at present. Does anyone know the implications of peddling in a restricted area, by that I mean land that is private. In Lincoln where I am from there are some areas that are for the ...
